Problem Statement: Prior to the Token Generation Event (TGE), there was no formal governance token for decision-making within the DAO. Consequently, an early governance process was adopted, involving chat and Notion platforms, to facilitate stakeholder discussions and decisions.

Simple Summary: This CDP (CDP1) outlines the initial governance process and the role of an operations company in executing stakeholder decisions. It also introduces the Balthazar platform's products and proposes the creation of a native token (BZR) to further decentralize governance.

Abstract: CDP1 describes the early governance process used before the introduction of a formal governance token. It delineates the operational framework, including the role of an operations company in implementing decisions related to infrastructure, product development, and capital allocation. The proposal also lists the products developed under this framework and introduces the BZR token for enhanced governance and utility within the DAO.

Motivation: The need for a structured governance mechanism was evident due to the lack of a formal governance token. This CDP aims to formalize the decision-making process and provide a foundation for the Balthazar DAO's growth and decentralization.

3. Idea is debated, and resourcing and requirements are scoped
4. The decision is then voted on via a critical decisions table, or in chat/video call - and one of the stakeholders reviews the decision
5. The decision is then executed by the operations company

Rationale:

The decision-making process was designed to be inclusive and collaborative, ensuring all stakeholders could contribute and consent to decisions.

The introduction of the BZR token is aimed at decentralizing governance further and providing utility within the Balthazar ecosystem.
